Bahrain Bayan School Graduation ceremony

As coronavirus restrictions disrupt graduation ceremonies, one Bahraini school was able to honour its seniors in a “drive-through” graduation ceremony at the kingdom’s Formula One track which included fireworks. Moreover, the graduation ceremony was as grand as anticipated.

The circuit was available for this ceremony by Bahrain Bayan School since the postponement of the then-upcoming races due to the pandemic. Schools and Universities in Bahrain have been shut down for a while now to control the spread of the virus. By providing educational quality in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the school has demonstrated its commitment to reaching greater success.

The vehicles were stationed in front of the main podium in a well-spaced fashion. The students would exit their cars and pass through a sterilization gate for the ceremony. Then they wait at pre-marked locations, under social distancing guidelines, before meeting the principal, at a 2-meter distance and taking a photo with their masks off temporarily. Before fireworks lit up the sky in a climax, families remaining in their cars waved the Gulf kingdom’s national flag and held posters praising their offspring. 82 Students participated in this specially arranged ceremony while their families watched from the cars and waved placards to congratulate their children. The event saw a glimpse of light through the rising death toll due to the global pandemic. The fireworks display on the night sky of June 10th brought hope and warmth to everyone attending the event and anyone who saw the beautiful war of colours amidst the troubled years.
